The Road To SnowGlobe: ODESZA

With so many artists testing the roads with tours this year at SnowGlobe (Floozies, Tasty Treat, Porter Robinson, Disclosure etc.) it’s ODESZA’s live show that has sparked up much commotion within dance music.  Raising eyebrows is an understatement, as their documented Tour Diary shows just how much preparation and talent goes into their live performance. In the midst of undertaking the huge In Return Tour, they’ve hosted a remix contest for their ballad Say My Name featuring Zyra, producing results that reckon with the original and providing exposure for talented newcomers Luke Shay, Autolaser, and The Geek x Vrv. In case you’re looking for some downtempo future vibes to chill to, you’ll be happy to know the NO.SLEEP series of mixes from ODESZA have you covered.  Put on a blindfold, put on your headphones, and forget the world.

For their most recent project, they went big.  The only thing better than the cover art to this remix of Sia’s Big Girls Cry is the song itself. ODESZA gives it their mystical touch which we can only describe as uplifting, heartfelt, and desired by anyone that’s ever heard even one of their tracks.

The Road To SnowGlobe 2014: Skrillex

What has Skrillex been up to lately? Only making the best next-level dubstep in the game and consistently blowing people’s minds at his live performances across the country.

Most recently, he recruited Trollphace for a remix that’s now apart of what has to be the HARDEST Remix EP ever released.  Being YOGI’s (OWSLA signee) debut release, the track featuring Pusha T ‘Burial‘ has guest contributions from Moody Good and Crookers as well.  Listen below and follow the link to purchase the entire thing.

 

As far as touring, his Mothership Tour has taken off and you can get a behind the scenes look into the prep work and how Skrillex’s personal life and upbringing influences his involvement with the tour.

Meanwhile, this weekend he came together with Diplo at the Mad Decent Boat Party to deliver a surprise Jack U set which one lucky fan caught footage of below.

It’s crazy clips of Skrillex in action like these that convince us he has one hell of a show planned for his performance at SnowGlobe this year.

The Road to SnowGlobe 2014: Thomas Jack

Need a vacation? Plug in your headphones and Thomas Jack will take you on a melodic journey to paradise. The Australian DJ has embraced and artfully mastered producing remixes of artists such as Of Monsters and Men, Adrian Lux, Gabriel Rios, and most recently, MYNGA. This twenty year old is paving the way for a genre that has been called “tropical house” with his usage of flutes, saxophones, trumpets, and a mixture of other jazzy sounds.

His newest remix of MYNGA’s “Back Home,” featuring Cosmo Klein, is another chill anthem which is sure to put a smile on your face. If not, the music video will – I mean, if you’re into tropical scenery, beautiful girls who surf, and sandy bums.

What does Thomas have on his plate now? He’s playing five festivals and two headlining shows before the end of the year (tour dates below). All of this madness will definitely get people buzzing about his music. Still, we are most stoked for his performance at SnowGlobe Festival – even the winter snow in Lake Tahoe can’t keep us from soaking up his summery tunes this New Year’s. Until then, we’ll be anticipating more tracks from this hit-maker.

The Road to SnowGlobe 2014: Phantogram

Phantogram, an electronic/rock artist comprised of Sarah Barthel and Josh Carter, have a gift that keeps on giving. Sarah’s dreamy voice combined with creative rhythms and heavy beats have resulted in success for the duo, who released their second album, Voices, this year.

Phantogram is currently on tour, making stops across the U.S. and Canada. For New Year’s, they will be performing at SnowGlobe Music Festival held in South Lake Tahoe. Their electronic energy mixed with pulsing beats are the reason for their mind-blowing live performances.

The Road To SnowGlobe : The Floozies

The Floozies are the one of a kind duo that takes live performance to the next level and are set to be one of the most entertaining acts attending SnowGlobe this year. The Floozies are made up of Producer/Guitarist Matt Hill and drummer Mark Hill from Lawrence, KS.

The combination of Party Rock and Electronic production styles is what gives them that sexy sound best exemplifying dance music.  Speaking of sexy, just look at that moped shot above. Damn.

The Road To SnowGlobe: Branchez

Branchez, a growing DJ and producer, has proven his skills in remixing as well as producing his own style of percussive creations of trap and bass music.

The New York native has racked up fans by remixing songs by Rihanna, Wet, Mat Zo, and more. His music is characterized by soulful beats blending electronic and hip-hop genres. Branchez has toured with DJs such as Giraffage, RL Grime, and most recently, Skrillex.

Branchez has been blazing his way through the festival scene, playing at Electric Daisy Carnival this past June, HARD Day of the Dead Music Festival in October, and now SnowGlobe Music Festival coming up this December to bring in the New Year!

Clearly, this producer is making all the right moves to get his name out there and we can’t wait to hear what he comes out with next! He released a track just this past summer called “Truth,” featuring a 90s R&B track by Brownstone and incorporates trap music influence.
